Alexey Kallima
Alexey Kallima was born in 1969 in Grozny. From 1984 to 1989, he studied at Krasnodar Art School (painting department). At the end of the 1990s, he moved to Moscow and became a member of the Radek Community, which opposed art commercialization. Kallima participated in performances, happenings; he worked with digital printing, readymades. Toward the second half of the decade, he devotes more time to painting. During this period, the central themes of his works are the Chechen War, the everyday life of migrants and participants of the military conflict. Among many other works on this topic, there is the series 'The Houris' (2004), 'You and Your Friend from Malgobek' (2005), 'Anticyclone' (2006). Alexey Kallima experiments with large-format pieces throughout these two decades — there are panoramic compositions, frescoes, and "invisible paintings." In particular, Alexey Kallima came into prominence for his murals: 'Metamorphoses' for the 1st Moscow Biennale (2005), exhibitions 'Our Apologies, the Opening of the Exhibition Has Been Postponed for Technical Reasons' (Louvre, 2010) and 'Psy' (2016) at the OVCHARENKO Gallery (until 2018 – Regina). Some murals were made with fluorescent paint, visible only in ultraviolet light. For one of these works, 'Terek – Chelsea,' the artist received the Innovation prize (nomination "Project of the Year) in 2005.
In the 2010s, the artist focused on the theme of everyday life. He reinterprets familiar repetitive imagery like shelves in a store or tire tracks on the snow into mesmerizing compositions with masterful drawing and use of colour.

For 33 years of his work OVCHARENKO, while the first exhibition of the gallery (then called "Regina") was held in September 1990, 278 group and solo exhibitions were held. In religion "33 years" are the age of Jesus Christ — the time of perfection, the period of life when the peak has been reached. Christ's rebirth occurred at the same time when he was 33, so " HELLO!" (ZDRAVSTVUYTE!).

Over the last year and half OVCHARENKO in co-operation with VLADEY has frequently presented personal exhibitions of its artists, among them projects made by Alisa Gorshenina, Sergey Zarva, Alexey Kallima, Pavel Pepperstein and the PPSS art group, Ivan Razumov, Inal Savchenkov, Leonid Tshe and Nestor Engelke.
