I must say that after the 'Instrumentarium", I was not at all shy of the size (I'm now preparing an exposition out of very small cards, the size of a postcard.) I wonder how many meters they can break through ... There are not many opportunities to do only one single something.)
In "Objects" I managed to get exactly what I wanted - a good photo of large sizes. A photograph made qualitatively, with halftones, abruptly, in detail. Cube, birds - the idea of an expositionist. Cell division is technically forced (I would gladly have tried without them). The main thing - it was working with photoplastics photographic media on photo paper. This is essential.
Imagine a real small hamster, enlarged to huge sizes. A nightmare. Maybe that's why H. Newton did not take photos that were larger than a meter.
In the "Objects" the animals failed. Have turned out broken, have escaped. But I'm quite happy with the portraits. And the mysterious energy of REGINA, and the decisive image of Volodya. There is an intrigue in it, an image, an unexpected adventurous moment, which is very interesting to me.
And the glory of the gallery touched me in a somewhat adventurous way. On the one hand, friends - photographers asked me with pressure, how it was possible to get to "REGINA". On the other hand, at my School, the gallery specializing in photography, they gently hinted, like you worked with REGINA, you will not be interested in us …
But it's not that. The experience of the Objects was very useful for me. In the sense of "searching for a genre" ...
But, Regina, after seeing the first samples, asked: but can not you just make good photos? So it is not all that simple with the definition of "genre"...
