Oleg Golosiy was born in Dnepropetrovsk in 1965. In 1984 he graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Art College and entered the Kiev State Art Institute. Having been a member of the famous squat "Paris Commune" in Kiev, Golosiy is a key figure in Ukrainian "new wave" of 80-90’s. He died tragically in Kiev in 1993. His paintings are full of lyrical and romantic visions, inspired by literature, cinema, religion, thoughts about himself, about life and death. Since 1987 he participated in the group exhibitions in Budapest, Warsaw, Kiev, Leipzig, Moscow, Munich and etc. The Golosiya’s works are in the collections of the State Russian Museum in Saint-Petersburg, the Gallery of the Contemporary Art in Glazgo, the National Museum of Fine Arts, PinchukArtCentre in Kiev, and in the private collections in the UK, Spain, Russia, the USA, Ukraine, Finland, France, Sweden and the others.
